The Twelve Dimensions of Human Prosperity

What this is

The Human Prosperity Lab's audits and quizzes are built around twelve dimensions of human prosperity, adapted from the LifeBook framework. Prosperity, here, is not financial prosperity alone — it is the degree to which a human being is flourishing across the interconnected dimensions of a whole life: physically, intellectually, emotionally, relationally, professionally, financially, spiritually, experientially, and through contribution.

The twelve dimensions

Health & Vitality

The condition, energy, strength, and sustainability of your physical life — sleep, movement, nourishment, and your relationship with your body.

Intellectual Life

The degree to which your mind is learning, expanding, questioning, and remaining alive — curiosity, exposure to new ideas, and willingness to reconsider beliefs.

Emotional Life

Your ability to experience, understand, regulate, express, and learn from your emotional life — including resilience and psychological flexibility.

Character

Who you are becoming and the values you embody when life becomes difficult — integrity, courage, responsibility, and congruence between values and behavior.

Marriage & Love

The quality, depth, intimacy, safety, and vitality of your closest romantic relationship or experience of love — gracefully accommodating those not currently partnered.

Family & Caregiving

The quality of your relationships with family and the way you show up for the people whose lives are intertwined with yours.

Friendship & Community

The depth of your friendships, sense of belonging, and connection to community — people with whom you can be fully unedited.

Career & Craft

Your relationship with the work, craft, vocation, or professional contribution through which you use your abilities — distinguishing success from fulfillment.

Wealth & Freedom

The degree to which money supports security, choice, generosity, possibility, and freedom in your life — not simply an income or net-worth assessment.

Lifestyle & Adventure

The extent to which the way you actually live reflects the life you want to experience — your ordinary Tuesday, not merely your vacations.

Spirituality, Meaning & Mortality

Your relationship with meaning, transcendence, spirituality, mortality, and the deeper questions of existence — without assuming any particular belief system.

Contribution

The degree to which your life positively affects people, communities, problems, or causes beyond yourself — without implying self-sacrifice.

What this is not

This is not a clinical, psychological, medical, financial, or diagnostic assessment. It has not been scientifically or clinically validated. It does not predict outcomes, and a score of any kind is not a measurement of your objective worth or wellbeing — only a reflection of how you answered these questions today.

How scoring works

Across the Lab's audits and quizzes, statements are typically rated from 1 (Not true for me) to 5 (Very true), then converted to a 0–100 scale for readability. None of this math implies clinical meaning — it's arithmetic on your own self-report, nothing more.

An evolving framework

These twelve dimensions, and the questions built around them, may be revised as the Human Prosperity Lab's broader research develops. We may, in time, formally research and validate aspects of this framework — but we will not imply that has already happened until it has.
